QQI Establishment

On 6 November 2012, FETAC completed its amalgamation with HETAC, NQAI and IUQB and a new integrated agency, Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), was established. FETAC, HETAC and the NQAI are now dissolved. The new agency will continue to provide continuity of service as it evolves. QQI will bring any changes and updates to your attention over the coming weeks on its website www.qqi.ie.

Every business aims for highly skilled, flexible employees who can not just do the job in hand but who will take on new learning and challenges too. You want to choose the best person for the job and then make sure they stay ahead.  Look for quality assured FETAC awards, made by QQI, that are part of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).

A FETAC award, made by QQI, tells you that a qualification has been acquired through further education and training provision and is quality assured. Awards are available through VECs, FÁS, Fáilte Ireland, Teagasc and a variety of private providers. Awards can be achieved in the workplace or in a community setting. Further education and training in Ireland is known for its dynamism and innovation, but also because it is genuinely accessible to learners nationwide, in over 1,200 centres. To get a quick overview of the FETAC awards system, view CAS Information Leaflet or watch our explanatory video.
